Mich. Residents Receive Letter Calling Christmas Lights 'Pagan'
ABC NEWS
Homeowners in Hudsonville, Mich., have been singled out for displaying what an anonymous letter-writer calls "pagan" lights and decorations on their properties.
On Wednesday night, residents of Vintage Drive found a letter attached to their mailboxes suggesting that anyone with Christmas lights or decorations should re-think their beliefs, becauseChristmas displays honor the "Pagan Sun-God" and do not pertain to the birth of Jesus, according to ABC News affiliate WZZM.
The letters start out on a friendly note, with "Hi Neighbor, you have a nice display of lights." But the self-described "love note" quickly changes tone, explaining how the "pagan tradition" of putting up lights began.
"I laughed because I think it's ridiculous that people would get upset over Christmas lights," said Danette Hoekman, who received the letter.
Besides speaking against holiday lights, the note claimed that the use of mistletoe, wreaths and yule-logs were in no way representative of Christmas.
Those who received the letters said they do not know who wrote them.
"It's a sin to judge other people and to tell people that if they have Christmas lights they are pagans. We're not pagans, we go to church regularly, my kids go to the Christian school," Hoekman said. "I think next year we should put on a huge display!"

READY FOR THE GAY ADAPTATION OF A CHRISTMAS CLASSIC? ‘I SAW DADDY KISSING SANTA CLAUS’
Every holiday season, the popular song “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” is played on radio stations and in homes across America. Now the tune, which was originally recorded by 13-year-old Jimmy Boyd in 1952, is getting a modern-day revamp.
The new adaptation — “I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus” — focuses on a same-sex couple and is centered upon the same theme as the original. The project, produced by Gay Family Values and Sean Chapin Productions, will surely raise some eyebrows. The video opens with two children and three men (two of the adults are the kids’ fathers) sitting around the dinner table.
One of the kids — a little girl — asks, “Daddy, who’s Santa Claus?” One of the fathers starts to explain who Santa is, but his partner interrupts and explains that the third male — presumably a friend of the family — knows Santa personally. So, the friend begins to tell the kids about Santa (he even shows them how to put out milk and cookies). The friend then leaves and the family goes to sleep.
Around 1:40, a child begins singing the “I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus” lyrics and the night-time kiss scene begins to unfold. One of the fathers dresses up as Santa and, well, you can probably guess how the rest of the music video/story goes.
Watch it, below:
Update: There was apparently another version (a parody) of “I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus” produced back in 1985. The song was put together by comedian Kip Addotta. Listen to it, below:

Barack Obama: "Christmas 2011, It's All About My Re-Election"-- Baby !!!

Having trouble deciding what to get the family for Christmas?
Well, fear not, my fellow Americans — because President Obama has a full online catalog of goodies that are certain to bring happiness and joy to your loved ones.
President Obama’s campaign team has put together a website to remind us what the Yuletide season is truly all about — getting him re-elected. So they’ve decided to offer Americans a collection of special decorations for the “holiday” season.
BarackObama.com was careful to use the word “holiday” — but I suspect these decorations are meant for “Christmas” celebrations.

The campaign is offering a lovely “Rhodium Ball Ornament” with the words “Obama and Biden.” The festive ornament will set you back $40.
“Brighten up your usual holiday decorations with this set of two Obama 2012 glass ornaments,”BarackObama.com declares.
And if you are tired of the aroma of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, President Obama has an environmentally-correct “soy candle” for $20. The campaign says it’s a great way to “light up” this “holiday” season. Again, I believe they are referring to Christmas.
Now let’s face it — between Thanksgiving and Christmas there’s a pretty good chance Americans will put on a few pounds. And we sure don’t want to disappoint the First Lady. So — as they say at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue — Let’s Move!
In what may very well be a first in presidential accessorizing, BarackObama.com is offering President Obama Yoga Pants.
“Whether you’re in yoga class or lazing around on your favorite couch, these exercise pants will keep you comfy and stylish,” the website proclaims.
For you fashionistas out there, President Obama’s yoga pants are made from 95 percent cotton and five percent spandex. I think they’re stretchy.
And BarackObama.com proudly proclaims that his yoga pants are “Made in the USA.”
After your workout, why not relax in your backyard with a refreshing adult beverage poured into your very own President Obama Martini glass? If your order right now, you can get two Martini glasses for only $30.
And don’t worry about messing up your furniture with water stains because the Commander-in-Chief also has a line of glass coasters.
But if you’re sipping a Martini, why not just throw a backyard barbecue?
And President Obama has just what you need — a “Fired Up and Ready to Grill” apron, a six-pack presidential cooler, and a nifty Commander-in-Chief cutting board to chop up your White House veggies.
But wait — there’s more.
Now you can flip those yummy fermented soy burgers with a side of arugula smear in style — with a new Barack Obama spatula.
This versatile spatula has a wooden handle and can scrape off most any surface.
The website has a treasure trove of treats, but my personal favorite is the President Obama Dog Leash.
“Help your dog be the envy of the dog park with a ‘Baracks’ Best Friend’ collar,” the website gushed.
And if Fluffy doesn’t follow the rules, you can always put him on a leash — President Obama is selling one of those, too.
So there you have it folks — everything you need for a Merry Obama Christmas — oops – I meant holiday.
I’m surprised they weren’t selling a Nativity Scene.

WTH: British Red Cross bans Christmas so as not to ‘offend’ Muslims !!!
HT~ barenakedislam
Christmas has been banned by the Red Cross from its 430 fund- raising shops. Staff have been ordered to take down decorations and to remove any other signs of the Christian festival because they could be offensive to Muslims.
(Yes, in fact, Christmas does offend many Muslims but it offends even more

UK DAILY MAIL The charity’s politically-correct move triggered an avalanche of criticism and mockery last night – from Christians. Christine Banks, a volunteer at a Red Cross shop in New Romney, Kent, said: ‘We put up a nativity scene in the window and were told to take it out. It seems we can’t have anything that means Christmas. We’re allowed to have some tinsel but that’s it. ‘When we send cards they have to say season’s greetings or best wishes. They must not be linked directly to Christmas. ‘When we
asked we were told it is because we must not upset Muslims.’
Mrs Banks added: ‘ We have been instructed that we can’t say anything about Christmas and we certainly can’t have a Christmas tree. ‘ I think the policy is offensive to Muslims as well as to us. No reasonable person can object to Christians celebrating Christmas. But we are not supposed to show any sign of Christianity at all.’
Labour peer Lord Ahmed, one of the country’s most prominent Muslim politicians, said: ‘It is stupid to think all Muslims would be offended. ‘The Muslim community has been talking to Christians for the past 1,400 years.’ He added: ‘In my business all my staff celebrate Christmas and I celebrate with them. It is absolutely not the case that Christmas could damage the Red Cross reputation for neutrality – I think their people have gone a little bit over the top.’
Yet one UK Muslim group put out this poster last year:
Yesterday officials at the charity’s London HQ confirmed that Christmas is barred from the 430 shops which contributed more than £20million to its income last year. ‘The Red Cross is a neutral organisation and we don’t want to be aligned with any political party or particular philosophy,’ a spokesman said.
‘We don’t want to be seen as a Christian or Islamic or Jewish organisation because that might compromise our ability to work in conflict situations around the world.’ (Yet in most of the Muslim world, the Red Cross ‘cross’ is not allowed and is replaced by a crescent symbol) He added: ‘In shops people can put up decorations like tinsel or snow which are seasonal. But the guidance is that things representative of Christmas cannot be shown.’
Volunteers, however, said they believed the Christmas ban was a product of political correctness of the kind that led Birmingham’s leaders to order their city to celebrate ‘Winterval’.
Rod Thomas, a Plymouth vicar and spokesman for the Reform evangelical grouping in the Church of England, said: ‘People who hold seriously to their faith are respected by people of other faiths. They should start calling themselves the Red Splodge. All their efforts will only succeed in alienating most people.’ Major Charles Heyman, editor of Jane’s World Armies, said: ‘There is really nothing to hurt the Red Cross in Christmas, is there? Would the Red Crescent stop its staff observing Ramadan?
‘In practice, the role of the Red Cross is to run prisoner- of-war programmes and relief efforts for civilians. Those activities require the agreement of both sides in a conflict in the first place. Celebrating Christmas in a shop in England could hardly upset that.’
Major Heyman added: ‘The Red Cross is just engaging in a bit of political correctness.’ British Red Cross leaders have, however, not extended the ban to their own profitable products. Items currently on sale include Christmas cards featuring angels and wise men and Advent calendars with nativity scenes. The spokesman said: ‘The Red Cross is trying to be inclusive and we recognise there are lots of people who want to buy Christmas cards which they know will benefit us.’
The charity’s umbrella body, the Swiss-based International Red Cross, has also had politically-correct doubts about its famous symbol. But efforts to find an alternative were abandoned in the face of protest and ridicule five years ago.

Obama "The Scrooge" Imposes First-Ever Tax On Christmas
The Foundry:
President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees—the Christmas Tree Tax—to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.
In the Federal Register of November 8, 2011, Acting Administrator of Agricultural Marketing David R. Shipman announced that the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a Christmas Tree Promotion Board. The purpose of the Board is to run a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” (7 CFR 1214.46(n)). And the program of “information” is to include efforts to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States” (7 CFR 1214.10).
To pay for the new Federal Christmas tree image improvement and marketing program, the Department of Agriculture imposed a 15-cent fee on all sales of fresh Christmas trees by sellers of more than 500 trees per year (7 CFR 1214.52). And, of course, the Christmas tree sellers are free to pass along the 15-cent Federal fee to consumers who buy their Christmas trees.
Acting Administrator Shipman had the temerity to say the 15-cent mandatory Christmas tree fee “is not a tax nor does it yield revenue for the Federal government” (76 CFR 69102). The Federal government mandates that the Christmas tree sellers pay the 15-cents per tree, whether they want to or not. The Federal government directs that the revenue generated by the 15-cent fee goes to the Board appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture to carry out the Christmas tree program established by the Secretary of Agriculture. Mr. President, that’s a new 15-cent tax to pay for a Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.
Nobody is saying President Obama doesn’t have authority to impose his new Christmas Tree Tax — his Administration cites the Commodity Promotion, Research and Information Act of 1996. Just because the Obama Administration has the legal power to impose its Christmas Tree Tax doesn’t mean it should do so.
The economy is barely growing and nine percent of the American people have no jobs. Is a new tax on Christmas trees the best President Obama can do?
And, by the way, the American Christmas tree has a great image that doesn’t need any help from the government.
