Something to celebrate: Partial-birth abortion ban has stopped 11,000 abortions !!!

Remember when Congress debated the partial-birth abortion ban and abortion advocates insisted that the procedure was necessary for women’s health? Remember when they challenged the constitutionality of the law in Gonzalez v. Carhart? The Supreme Court held that the law is constitutional even without a specific non-life-endangering health exception (the law already offered a life-endangerment exception). Five years later, no specific, personal stories have emerged of women whose health has been negatively impacted by the unavailability of the partial-birth abortion procedure — but more than 11,000 lives have been saved. Alliance Defense Fund attorney Casey Mattox reports:

The Court didn’t have to decide that a health exception was always unnecessary as a factual matter, deferring to Congress’s judgment on the matter. It simply refused to declare the whole law unconstitutional because of the theoretical possibility that a woman might need an abortion for a non-life-threatening health reason. But importantly, the Court held that abortionists could bring future challenges to the law on behalf of actual women who needed a partial-birth abortion for true health reasons.

Hours after the decision, Planned Parenthood was still warning of its imminent negative impact on women’s health. The battle seemingly joined, Justice Ginsburg’s dissenting opinion, citing the ACOG/Kagan language, specifically invited as-applied challenges on behalf of the alleged thousands of women who needed the partial-birth abortion procedure for health reasons: “One may anticipate that such a preenforcement challenge will be mounted swiftly, to ward off serious, sometimes irremediable harm, to women whose health would be endangered by the intact D&E prohibition.”

Over five years later, Justice Ginsburg and the nation still wait. Although women’s health was allegedly immediately harmed by the decision, we have not yet seen an as-applied challenge on behalf of one of these women, nor have we seen even one documented story of a woman whose health was impacted by the unavailability of a partial-birth abortion. If we accept Guttmacher’s figure of approximately 2,200 partial-birth abortions per year, then the decision in Gonzales – upholding the law and lifting the injunction against it – has prevented 11,000 partial-birth abortions from occurring. Obama Admin OKs Using Aborted Babies’ Brains in Lab Tests

LifeNews

The Obama administration is getting grief from a pro-life group for approving an experiment using the remains of the bodies of unborn children victimized in abortion for research continues in U.S. laboratories.

Scott Fischbach, the director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life uncovered the information showing a clinical trial approved by the Food and Drug Administration uses brain tissue from aborted unborn babies to treat macular degeneration. StemCells Inc. will inject fetal brain stem cells into the eyes of up to 16 patients to study the cells’ effect on vision.
In its press release announcing the clinical trial, StemCells Inc. was careful to refer to the fetal brain material as “purified human neural stem cell product” or HuCNS-SC cells, rather than “fresh human fetal brain tissue,” a description which can be found elsewhere on its website.

“StemCells Inc. is not using embryonic stem cells. A five-day-old human being at the embryonic stage does not have a brain, but a fetus at 10 or 20 weeks of development with visible fingers, toes and ears has a functioning brain,” said Fischbach. “Developing human beings in the womb are treated simply as raw material for laboratory experimentation by StemCells Inc. and other companies seeking to monetize aborted unborn children.”

In the press announcement, StemCells Inc. calls the use of the brains from babies killed in abortions “truly unique.”

“With the approval of this trial, we have accomplished something truly unique in the stem cell field, which is the extension of clinical testing of our proprietary human neural stem cell platform to all three elements of the central nervous system: the brain, spinal cord and eye,” said Martin McGlynn, President and CEO of StemCells, Inc. “The preclinical data supporting our IND is particularly compelling and we look forward to getting this trial underway.”

Fischbach said the dehumanization of nascent human life, applied to human embryos in order to justify the exploitation of embryonic stem cells, is now being applied to the harvesting of brain tissue from more developed unborn babies with functioning brains.

But he said the problem is not unique to StemCells Inc — pointing out that the misleadingly-named Birth Defects Research Laboratory at the University of Washington in Seattle is known within the research community as a top government distributor of fetal tissue.

The lab has been sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for over four decades, according to a report in WORLD Magazine. The Puget Sound Business Journal stated that the lab “in 2009 filled more than 4,400 requests for fetal tissue and cell lines.” WORLD reports that the Seattle facility has retrieved the products of 22,000 pregnancies to date; the lab collects aborted fetuses from abortion centers across the country.

Experimental fetal stem cell treatments have yielded horrific results, he said.

Dr. David Prentice, an internationally recognized expert on stem cells and cloning, cites trials in which fetal stem cells have been used unsuccessfully to treat Parkinson’s disease. The New York Times called the outcome of a 2001 study “devastating” after “the patients writhed and jerked uncontrollably.” Another large clinical trial published in 2003 showed similar results.

“The use of morally illicit material in the biomedical industry violates the ‘do no harm’ principle that has governed the practice of medicine for millennia,” Fischbach said. “Adult stem cells offer the ethical and efficacious alternative. Unborn babies deserve dignity, not dissection and destruction.”

Locally, he said it is not known whether the University of Minnesota is experimenting with material from aborted fetuses, but it does use stem cells extracted from human embryos, which are killed in the process. Minnesota’s Human Conceptus Statute 145.422 prohibits the use of a living human conceptus for any type of research or experimentation.

“MCCL calls upon the U of M to pledge not to purchase or use fetal material in its research,” Fischbach added. “Such gruesome work violates human dignity and has no place in our state-funded institutions.”

Believe in Abortion ??? Watch "180" till the end, I dare you !!!

"With me, abortion is not a problem of religion, it's a problem of the Constitution.
I believe that until and unless someone can establish that the unborn child
is not a living human being, then that child is already protected by the Constitution,
which guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to all of us." ~Ronald Reagan

Why I'm Prolife: Stand Up & Fight: Make a Pledge Today to Always Protect the Sanctity of Life !!!

I wrote this poem because a lot of people seem to think life does not begin at conception. I have a few friends who have had abortions and they have always told me they still feel bad for making that choice. So here is my plea to you, to not make the choice and to stand up for life. In spoken word and story format. -Justen Charters

The Record is Clear: Massachusetts Moderate Mitt Romney Can’t Be Trusted to Protect Life.

"What happened after Massachusetts moderate Mitt Romney changed his position from pro-abortion to pro-life?" a female narrator asks as a picture of an unhappy-looking Romney fills the screen and spooky music plays. "He governed pro-abortion."

"Romney appointed a pro-abortion judge, expanded access to abortion pills, put Planned Parenthood on a state medical board but failed to put a pro-life group on the same board. And Romney signed government-mandated health care with taxpayer-funded abortions. Massachusetts moderate Mitt Romney: He can't be trusted."

Perry: Romney Abortion Flip Was for 'Convenience'

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry says Mitt Romney changed his position on legalized abortion out of political convenience.
Romney supported legalized abortion while Massachusetts governor. He says he changed his mind after weighing legislation that would have created new embryos to be destroyed.
Perry told an anti-abortion forum in South Carolina on Wednesday that it's hard to understand how a public official could change his views on something as fundamental as abortion in his 50s.
He says Romney made the decision "for political convenience."
Perry and fellow presidential contenders Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul told the forum they believe human life begins at conception.
Romney declined to attend the event held in Greenville.

Video: Gingrich surging in South Carolina

The InsiderAdvantage poll of South Carolina likely Republican primary voters shows Newt Gingrich surging, coming within a statistical tie of Mitt Romney.

The poll of 726 registered voters was completed Wednesday night and offered the following results:

Romney -- 23 percent

Gingrich -- 21 percent

Santorum -- 14 percent

Paul -- 13 percent

Huntsman -- 7 percent

Perry -- 5 percent

Three new polls show former House Speaker Newt Gingrich gaining on Mitt Romney in South Carolina and emerging as the clear conservative choice of voters who are not backing the former Massachusetts governor for the Republican presidential nomination.

An Insider Advantage/Majority Opinion Research survey completed on Thursday shows that Gingrich is actually in a statistical tie with Romney in South Carolina, with 21.3 percent of the vote to Romney’s 23.1.

Gingrich leads Romney in several demographic groups, including voters 18 to 29 years old, black voters, male voters, and Independents.

Ron Paul and Rick Santorum each received 13 percent of the vote.

The latest Rasmussen Reports poll of likely Republican voters in South Carolina finds Romney ahead with 28 percent of the vote, but Gingrich has moved into second place with 21 percent. Santorum had been in second a week ago, but has now fallen back to 16 percent, dead even with Paul.

And an American Research Group (ARG) poll completed Thursday shows that Gingrich has closed the gap with Romney to just four points in South Carolina. Romney drew 29 percent of the votes, down from 31 percent a week earlier, while Gingrich rose from 24 percent to 25 percent. Santorum, meanwhile, plunged from 24 percent to just 7 percent, and Paul now has 20 percent of the votes.

The ARG survey also found Gingrich leading Romney among voters who say they are supporters of the tea party, 28 percent to 24 percent. Among evangelical Christians, Gingrich gets 40 percent of the vote, followed by Rick Perry with 15 percent, Romney with 13 percent, Santorum with 12 percent, and Paul at 10 percent.

That poll also shows that Paul has overtaken Romney as the favorite among Independents, beating Romney by a margin of 29 percent to 27 percent.

Romney Abortion Fairy Tale SC

Mitt Romney is pro-life or pro-choice based on where he is campaigning. "Every piece of legislation that has come across my desk I've come down on the side of life." Except for Romney Health Care that pays for abortion, promotes chemical abortions with Plan B, gives Planned Parenthood a seat on the Mass. health advisory board, and attempts to force pro-life hospitals to dispense abortifacients. Mitt also supports killing the tiniest humans for research, asked the federal government to start funding abortifacients, appointed pro-abortion Democrat Matt Nestor to a district court, attended a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, and told the NARAL, "you need someone like me in Washington." Yet sadly, National Right To Life's longtime general counsel and political architect James Bopp is campaigning for Romney, trying to provide political cover to convince pro-lifers to vote for an obvious pro-choicer who will lie to obtain more power for himself (and the compromised pro-life industry). -American RTL Action

Baby twins die after abortion blunder !!!

A tragic medical mix-up has left a young mother-to-be without the twin babies she was expecting after the wrong foetus was terminated in her womb.

The woman had been told that one of the twins had a congenital heart defect which would require years of operations - if he survived at all. The sick baby shared the womb with his healthy twin.

The mother had made the agonising decision to have the sick baby injected to end his life.

Mix-up: Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne where the wrong foetus was aborted

But the wrong baby was injected, terminating the healthy pregnancy.

Following the tragic mistake at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne the mother then had an emergency caesarean section in which the sick child was terminated in a three hour operation.

Last night the hospital apologised for the ‘distressing clinical accident’, which is now the subject of a full investigation.

A friend of the woman told Melbourne’s Herald Sun that the family was struggling to cope with the mistake.

‘She went to the hospital with two babies and now she has none,’ said the friend.

‘She had the heartache of giving birth to her sick baby. She’s traumatised.’

The friend said the hospital had explained that it had followed correct procedure ‘but how could this happen?’

The ultrasound clinician, said the friend, had said she checked three times before the termination because she didn’t want to make a mistake.

The paper said the woman’s husband, a nurse, a doctor and the ultrasound clinician - who was reportedly inconsolable as a result of the error - were in the room at the time the injection was given to the wrong baby.

The family are believed to be considering legal action. Victorian Health Minister David Davis described the event as an ‘absolute tragedy for all concerned.’

A spokeswoman for the hospital said: ‘This is a terrible tragedy and the hospital is deeply sorry for the loss suffered by the patient and her family.’

Astounding Video Depicts Unborn Baby’s Full Development “From Conception to Birth: A Life Unfolds,”

, Alexander Tsiaras, an image-maker and the author of the book “From Conception to Birth: A Life Unfolds,” gave a recently-published TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) talk, during which he unveiled a spectacular video about fetal development.

Alexander Tsiaras's book, "From Conception to Birth: A Life Unfolds"

The video, which graphically shows the process of human progression, begins by showing an egg being fertilized and ends by illustrating a baby’s actual birth. Throughout the clip, viewers see the full fetal development, with explanations about what, exactly, is happening at each phase. But the imagery is spellbinding.

Watch the astounding video, below. The actual sequence of a fetus’ development begins at 2:05, with Tsiaras explaining the development process both before and after the clip:

Pro-life advocates are giving the video rave reviews. While the nation continues to be divided on the abortion issue, some believe that the growth and expansion of technology is beginning to impact how individuals view the issue. The ability to see graphic details about the development of a fetus, they believe, makes it more difficult to accept abortion without sincere questions about life’s beginnings.

In addressing what he’s encountered in his research, Tsiaras says:

“The magic of the mechanisms inside each genetic structure saying exactly where that nerve cell should go– the complexity of these, the mathematical models of how these things are indeed done are beyond human comprehension. Even though I’m a mathematician, I look at this with a marvel of how did these instruction sets not make mistakes as they build what is us. It’s a mystery, its magic, its divinity.”

Here’s more on how he and his company utilize and manipulate images to showcase the astounding developments occurring in the human body:

Anatomical Travelogue is an award-winning producer of visually rich health content. Our compelling, human stories are brought to life using high-end 3D visualizations based on actual human data. For the first time ever, we are able to take viewers on incredible journeys through the body. From the molecular level and up through cells, tissues, organs, and systems, our proprietary scientific visualizations deliver images that are unrivaled in accuracy and artistry.

Truly, regardless of where one stands on the abortion issue, this is a buzz-worthy and unique video sequence.

Life-at-Fertilization Initiative Has Hope in Miss. It's intended to provoke a court fight aimed at overturning Roe v. Wade

An effort to put abortion bans into state constitutions is looking for its first victory next month in Mississippi, where voters are being asked to approve an amendment that could provoke a court fight over the ruling that broadly legalized the practice across the United States.
Supporters hope the so-called personhood initiative declaring that life begins when a human egg is fertilized will succeed in a state that already has some of the toughest abortion regulations in the U.S. and only a single clinic where the procedures are performed.

While Mississippi is the only state with such an amendment on the ballot this fall, efforts are under way to put the question to voters in at least four other states in 2012.
Any victory at the state level would likely be short-lived since a life-at-fertilization amendment would conflict with the U.S. Constitution. Leaders of the movement say their ultimate goal is to provoke a court fight to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that established a legal right to abortion.
Opponents say defining life as beginning at fertilization could block some common forms of birth control and deter Mississippi physicians from performing in vitro fertilization because they'd fear criminal charges if an embryo doesn't survive.

Obama’s unconditional love for Planned Parenthood !!!

HT- HillBuz

Get the Facts.

Obama’s Unyielding Loyalty to Planned Parenthood
President Obama likes to talk a lot about compromise. But when it comes to taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, America’s abortion giant, Obama’s loyalty is unyielding.
After all, Planned Parenthood is one of President Obama’s top political allies.
  • In a 2007 speech to Planned Parenthood Action Fund, then-candidate Obama told the audience, “On this fundamental issue, I will not yield, and Planned Parenthood will not yield.” [1]
  • In its 2008 endorsement of then-candidate Obama, Planned Parenthood Action Fund made just its second presidential endorsement in its history, noting his 100% voting record with Planned Parenthood dating back to his time as a state senator in Illinois. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards exclaimed, “there is no organization better positioned to reach out to women voters than the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. We will do all that we can to support Barack Obama…” [2]
  • During the 2008 and 2010 election cycles alone, Planned Parenthood spent over $1.7 million dollars to help elect President Obama and support his fellow pro-abortion Democrats[3a] [3b]
And since taking over the Oval Office, President Obama has rewarded Planned Parenthood by going above and beyond to protect their hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding.
  • During fiscal year 2009, Planned Parenthood reported receiving over $363 million dollars in government grants and contracts – an all-time record – boosting their annual budget to over $1 billion[4]
  • In February of 2011, in response to undercover videos by Live Action in which Planned Parenthood employees show a willingness to aid and abet in alleged sex trafficking of minors, Obama called it a “manufactured” issue, noting that “Planned Parenthood in the past has done good work.” While conceding that Planned Parenthood should “address” any specific problems, he said that Americans “shouldn’t get so distracted with some of these issues that we ignore what really determines how well our kids do in the future.”[5]
  • In response to Live Action’s videos and a desire to get taxpayers out of the abortion business, the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to defund Planned Parenthood by a 240-185 vote in the Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government in February, 2011[6]
  • When Speaker Boehner demanded that the cut be a part of the final Continuing Resolution deal to keep the federal government from shutting down, President Obama refused to cut a dime. When pushed by Speaker Boehner to agree to cuts, President Obama responded, “Nope, zero. Nope, zero. John, this is it.” [7]
Thanks to special protection from President Obama, not a dime was cut from Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding at the federal level. However, since the federal fight, nine states across the country have defunded Planned Parenthood of over $60 million. [8] The Obama Administration has responded by trying to strong-arm and even bypass the decisions made by these states.
  • In June 2011, after Gov. Mitch Daniels signed into law a bill defunding Planned Parenthood, the Obama Administration responded by declaring their law to be “illegal.” [9] Furthermore, the Obama Administration told the state that if it did not change the law, Health and Human Services would consider pulling the state’s Medicaid funding, which totals $4.3 billion dollars. Planned Parenthood released a statement saying, “The HHS letter is a strong rebuke to Indiana and serves as a warning to other states that attempts to  bar federal funding for Planned Parenthood.” [10]
  • After declaring Indiana’s law to be illegal, HHS issued a warning to other states stating that they are not permitted to “exclude providers from the program solely on the basis of the range of medical services they provide.” [11]
  • In September 2011, responding to a decision made by the elected members of New Hampshire’s Executive Council to reject a $1.8 million dollar contract with Planned Parenthood, the Obama Administration bypassed the state and contracted directly with Planned Parenthood. The non-competitive contract outraged local officials, with Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) responding, “New Hampshire’s Executive Council has spoken on this matter, and the (Obama) administration should respect the state’s right to make this decision."[12] Read More: http://www.sba-list.org/turnoffthemusic

Abortionist admits: babies sometimes born alive and left ‘wiggling around in the toilet’ !!!

ORLANDO, Florida, July 26, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In disturbing testimony during court proceedings against a well-known Florida abortionist, a fellow abortionist reportedly admitted that some aborted children are delivered alive and left “wiggling around in the toilet,” where they are allowed to die.
The testimony occurred during proceedings against abortionist James Pendergraft, who was forced to pay over $36 million last week for a botched procedure that left its intended target alive, but severely disabled.
Pendergraft, who was convicted of felony extortion in 2001, was told by an Orlando County jury to pay $18 million in the civil suit itself and another $18 million in punitive damages, totaling over $36 million.
Michele Herzog of Pro-Life Action Ministries, a witness in the courtroom, said that jurors listened as abortionist Randall Whitney, one of Pendergrast’s accomplices, “cavalierly stated that yes, babies are delivered in the toilet all the time and many times are still alive, wiggling around in the toilet.”
“I would say it was eye-opening, but we all know what really goes on in these abortion mills.  But to hear the abortionist so coldly explain how they kill the children is so hard to hear and so unbelievable to think that it is allowed in our great nation,” Herzog said.
The civil suit was launched by Pendergrast’s former patient, Carol Howard, whose infant barely survived a 2004 medical abortion at his facility. The girl, now ten years old, suffers from a host of disabilities in connection with the attempted killing, including cerebral palsy, loss of function on the left side of her body, strokes, mental disability, chronic lung disease, and seizures.

Abortionist James Prendergraft
The jury last week ordered Pendergraft to pay Howard $18,255,000 in damages, as well as $462,000 in court costs, according to reports. The next day, the jury awarded Howard punitive damages of over $18 million, bringing the total to $36,766,000.
“[Pendergraft] has an abortion dynasty around the state of Florida. He only cares about money, and I say hit him where it hurts!” said Howard’s attorney during closing arguments to the jury, according to Herzog.
