Well, well, well. Barack Obama – for the most part – has refrained from coming right out and saying that free markets and individualism are failed concepts. Sure, he’s railed endlessly against “greedy corporations” and “the rich” not paying their “fair share,” but he’s never actually said publicly that capitalism and individualism don’t work - until now.
In his class-warfare speech in Osawatomie, Kansas last week, our socialist-wannabe president finally dropped all pretenses of believing in individual achievement, free enterprise and American capitalism. Karl Marx would be proud.
Yep, according to Comrade Obama, capitalism is a theory that has “never worked.” He ludicrously argues that its appeal “can’t be justified by results,” and that its popularity is based on America’s preference for an economic ideology that “fits well on a bumper sticker.” (Kinda like “yes we can” and “hope and change.”)
Dude might have claimed to be channeling Teddy Roosevelt in his divisive speech, but he sounded a hell of a lot more like Hugo Chavez to the Rat.
Obama seems to feel that capitalism speaks to the flaw of America’s core – and to a false sense of decency. He mocks individualism while hinting at a zero-sum game; an unfair game where individual achievement creates an unwarranted skepticism of the benefits of government. As is always the case on Planet Obama, evil corporations and the rich have exploited the poor and the middle class mercilessly – all for their own selfish gains.
One would think that if any of Obama’s three “achievements” over the past three years – ObamaCare, a dramatic increase in corporate regulation, and his self-proclaimed “stimulus” plan – had been successful in the least, this class warfare warrior would be touting his non-capitalist victories vs. simply tearing down capitalism itself.
God knows Dear Leader doesn’t shy away from self-aggrandizement.
