'In God We Trust' making comeback in East Texas !!!
TYLER — In the midst of all of the drama in this morning's Smith County Commissioners Court meeting, 4 words presided over the courtroom that haven't been there before.
"In God We Trust" is now placed neatly over the seal in the courtroom.
In this day and age, many public places across the nation are losing those historical words as complaints roll in.
The commissioners voted on putting up the words last month and it was unanimously approved.
"If there's any decision that we can make...that we have made recently, that we can be assured is the right one...as far as I'm concerned, this is it," said County Judge Joel Baker.

What I've been up to...(pic heavy)
I am guessing some of you may have been wondering what I have been up to...well I'll tell you! I have been seeing the nail polish jewelry trend, and I wanted to give it a go. I was having a hard time finding all the supplies I needed so I decided to make my own. I went and bought clear resin and molds to make my own cabochons. These take about 24 hours to dry and then I paint them with nail polish ( or decorate with glitter)! Other than being time consuming (the drying time), they are fun to make and decorate. I have put 2 of my favorite ones on a ring base. So far I have just been experimenting with different colors and what not. I have even tried stamping them with my Bundle Monster and Konad plates! I only have one of those to show you though, it's the only one that really came out well. I also have a bangle bracelet mold as well, but the bracelet isn't ready yet.
(This is a layer of Sally Hansen "LCD" and then Orchid "Teal me a Story")
On another note, I am sure some of you remember my Ebay haul which included the Kleancolor metallic polishes. Well, a package came in the mail the other day from that seller. Apparently, there was a metallic polish missing! Sooo...... I also have a swatch for you today. This is Kleancolor Metallic Aqua. I added some of the aqua glitter I bought from Hobby Lobby for a little extra pizazz! Enjoy!
(This is the smallest square shape, and I used Wet N Wild "Behind Closed Doors" and Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in "Black Out". Bear with me, I'm not a good hand model lol)
(This is the largest of the square molds. I used a clear polish and then sprinkled on aqua glitter, then sealed it with Sally Hansen "Black Out". My nails match!)
(This is China Glaze "Dorothy Who" and China Glaze "Up all Night")
(This is clear polish and white holo-ish glitter. It's sealed with Kleancolor "Metallic White")
(This is the medium square mold. I used Kleancolor "Metallic Black and Konad plate M57, then layered Kleancolor "Metallic Pink". I really like how this came out!)
(This is Sally Hansen LCD and Kleancolor "Metallic Pink" )
(Sally Hansen "LCD" and Kleancolor "Metallic Purple")
(I tried another stamp, but it didn't come out as well. It was supposed to be zebra stripes, but they can't be seen. The purple is Kleancolor "Metallic Purple")
(This is a layer of Sally Hansen "LCD" and then Orchid "Teal me a Story")
(This is the small round mold. I used Sinful Colors "Let me Go")
(and last but not least, I used the multicolored glitter from Hobby Lobby. For some reason the red glitter bleeds a little.)On another note, I am sure some of you remember my Ebay haul which included the Kleancolor metallic polishes. Well, a package came in the mail the other day from that seller. Apparently, there was a metallic polish missing! Sooo...... I also have a swatch for you today. This is Kleancolor Metallic Aqua. Colors Week
Here is a sneak peek of our 2 week Colors Unit. Each day, my students have been asked to dress in the "color of the day."
Every day we have webbed items to coordinate with our colors. Students are learning about bubble maps and circle maps. Here is what we came up with for blue.
We've been making a page each day to insert in our Brown Bear, Brown Bear book. Students will underline the color of the day, glue on their di cut, and illustrate their page. We are engaging in beginning reading through memorization and print recognition.
Red Day!
Our circle map for red.
Here is our red bird page. I hope to post pictures of the final product. The parents RAVE about these books each year and they make a great keepsake.
We also review colors by doing a color match on our pocket chart. Students chanted the spelling of the color words and helped me to match the word with the color. You can download these color words from Fran's site, {here}.
Off to find something to wear for tomorrow's color - it is "pink day!" ;-)

Obama's Uncle Charged With Drunken Driving, Held by Immigration Officials
AP/Framingham Police Department
This Aug. 24, 2011 black-and-white booking photo provided Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 by the Framingham Police Department shows Onyango Obama, arrested in Framingham, Mass., for several infractions, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He is the uncle of President Barack Obama.
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – President Barack Obama's uncle was stopped on suspicion of drunken driving, told police he planned to arrange bail through the White House and was being held without bail on an immigration detainer, authorities said Monday.
Onyango Obama was arrested last week in Framingham, about 20 miles west of Boston, after police said he made a rolling stop through a stop sign and nearly caused a cruiser to strike his sport utility vehicle.
Police said that after being booked at the police station, Obama was asked whether he wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail.
"I think I will call the White House," he stated, according to a police report filed in Framingham District Court.
Police said Obama, who's originally from Kenya and is the half-brother of the president's late father, pleaded not guilty Friday and was being held without bail on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In a court document, ICE said he had an earlier deportation or removal order.
His immigration status couldn't immediately be confirmed, but such orders are generally reserved for people living in the country illegally.
An immigration detainer, used by ICE to identify people in jail or prison who could be deported, is a request to another law enforcement agency to notify ICE before releasing the person from custody so ICE can arrange to take over custody.

Video: Adele performs 'Someone Like You,' steals show at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards !!!
Adele wowed at Sunday's MTV Video Music awards.
The British soul singer belted out the simple ballad, "Someone Like You," from her album "21," with none of the theatrics or hype of the night's other performers, like Beyonce, Chris Brown and Jay-Z and Kanye West.
Onstage with just a piano behind her, Adele delivered a low-key, but killer performance.
"Well, I wrote that song because I was exhausted from being such a [expletive,] with 'Rolling in the Deep' or 'Rumor Has It,'" she told MTV about the song's meaning.
Adele, who won four Moonman trophies for "Rolling in the Deep," used a past relationship for the now-ubiquitous, mega hit.
