Newsweek's Michelle Goldberk compares Ann Romney to Hitler and Stalin

On Sunday morning, Newsweek/Daily Beast senior contributor Michelle Goldberg compared Ann Romney to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin while appearing on MSNBC's Up with Chris Hayes Sunday morning.

Goldberg had an issue with Ann Romney's Mother's Day op-ed, in which the wife of the presumptive GOP Presidential nominee referred to the "crown of motherhood."

"You know, yes, motherhood is beautiful," Goldberg said before comparing Mrs. Romney to the twentieth century dictators.

"I found that phrase 'the crown of motherhood' really kind of creepy, not just because of its, like, somewhat you know, I mean, it’s kind of usually really authoritarian societies that give out like The Cross of Motherhood, that give awards for big families. You know, Stalin did it, Hitler did it."

She went on to call it an “insipid, condescending praise.” More

BREAKING: Ron Paul to end active campaigning !!!

(CNN) - Texas Rep. Ron Paul said in a statement Monday that he will end active campaigning in the GOP presidential race, but will continue efforts to win delegates at state conventions.

Paul on Monday issued a statement that insisted he would continue the fight for delegates, taking the battle to the GOP convention in Tampa. But the favorite of libertarians and tea partiers says he would no longer spend “many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood Presidiential Candidate — “Death In The Name of Allah Is Our Goal”…

This isn’t going to end well.

(PTI) — Egypt’s Constitution should be based on the Koran and Sharia law, presidential candidate from the Muslim Brotherhood Islamist movement Mohamed Morsi said.

“The Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal,” Morsi said in his election speech before Cairo University students on Saturday night.

Today Egypt is close as never before to the triumph of Islam at all the state levels, he said.

“Today we can establish Sharia law because our nation will acquire well-being only with Islam and Sharia. The Muslim Brothers and the Freedom and Justice Party will be the conductors of these goals,” he said.

The Muslim Brotherhood Islamist group has been banned in Egypt for decades before being legalized following the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak in last year’s popular uprising, and has since emerged as a powerful political force.

NJ Test Asked Children to Reveal Secret

Some New Jersey parents are steamed about a question on a statewide standardized test this week that asked some third-graders to write about a secret and why it was hard to keep.

Richard Goldberg, a Marlboro dentist, was appalled when he asked his twin 9-year-old sons about the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge and they told him about the question, which state officials say was given to about 4,000 students as a tryout.

"All of the sudden, you have in a sense Big Brother checking out the secrets of families," he said.

So much for essays about how it was hard not to tell Mom about her surprise birthday party.

Goldberg felt the question ventured into topics that would best be kept quiet, and that it could raise some serious complications: What would test-graders do if the secret revealed has to do with a crime? And why would that question be asked anyway? New Jersey's state Education Department is reviewing what happened. More

Former Obama Adviser, Steven Rattner, Calls Obama Camp’s Bain Ad ‘Unfair’

Steven Rattner, a former Obama administration adviser on the auto bailout, said in a television interview Monday morning that the new Obama campaign ad attacking Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital is “unfair.”
Rattner, who was known as President Obama’s “car czar,” also said that job losses — like the ones featured the new ad — while unfortunate, are “part of capitalism.”
“Look, Mitt Romney made a mistake ever talking about the fact that he created 100,000 jobs,” Rattner said in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “Bain Capital’s responsibility was not to create 100,000 jobs or some other number. It was to create profits for its investors — most of whom were pension funds and endowments and foundations.”
The Obama campaign’s new ad tells the story of a Kansas City steel company, purchased by Bain in 1993, that subsequently went bankrupt.
One of workers who lost their job at the plant, Joe Soptic, appears in the ad: “It makes me angry,” he says. “Those guys were all rich. They all had more money than they’ll ever spend, yet they didn’t have the money to take care of the very people that made the money for them.”
But Rattner insisted that he portrayal of the private equity firm that Romney ran was skewed in Obama’s ad.

Police follow leads after 11-year-old girl confronts intruder !!!

Utah police are tracking leads after an 11-year-old Salt Lake City girl allegedly came face-to-face with an gunman when she walked into her kitchen to get a snack while home alone Friday.

The girl said she saw an armed, dark-skinned man in her kitchen, who apparently came through the back door of her home, which was open, Fox 13 Now reports.

When the girl attempted to reach her cell phone to alert police, the intruder allegedly stuck his gun in her face and told her not to make the call.

The girl then bolted out of the front door of her home, police told Fox 13 Now, and ran into a neighbor’s house to call 911.

The suspect -- who the girl described as around 6-feet tall with braided hair and wearing dark sunglasses -- evaded police before they arrived at the home.

Book: Obama Team Tried to Pay Rev. Wright $150K to Keep Quiet Until After 2008 Election

Rev. Jeremiah Wright said members of Barack Obama’s team tried to buy his silence until after the 2008 election, according to a new book.

“The Amateur,” author Edward Klein’s unauthorized biography of Obama, has been making waves with explosive claims that former President Bill Clinton called Obama an “amateur” and encouraged Hillary Clinton to quit her secretary of state post and run against him in 2012.

The New York Post on Sunday published a conversation between Wright and Klein, the latest tidbit to come from the book. In it, Wright said once his fiery sermons surfaced during the 2008 campaign, he received an email asking him not to preach until after November. More

Shameful: White House's Mother's Day Card with ObamaCare pitch !!!

Not even Mother's Day could be shielded from election-year politics.
The White House on Sunday released specially tailored e-cards touting the benefits for moms of the federal health care overhaul, urging people to send the card around to "show some appreciation for the mom in your life."
The e-card, posted on the White House website for any and all to download and share, is titled: "Happy Mother's Day From The Affordable Care Act."
It goes on to say, "Being a mom isn't a pre-existing condition."
The text of the card lists a string of stats about how women benefit under the health care overhaul, which is now the subject of a Supreme Court challenge. The card says that while insurers before the overhaul could "deny coverage for women with pre-existing conditions like breast cancer or pregnancy," they will be prohibited from denying coverage over any pre-existing condition starting in 2014.
The card also cites the millions of women who gained "expanded preventive services with no cost-sharing" last year.
