The war in the information battle-space heats up.

In an effort to stop the protection of constitutional liberties, the Muslim Brotherhood-linked ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) has kicked off its national sharia disinformation campaign in Kansas City. They are running billboards and radio ads in an attempt to deceive and mislead the American people on the sharia. ICNA is a Muslim Brotherhood group, according to a captured internal document of the Brotherhood. Muslim Brotherhood groups in America are trying to norm Sharia, mainstream Sharia. The Muslim Brotherhood group ICNA needs to lie to Americans about Sharia and advance a false narrative about the most extreme and radical ideology on the face of the earth.

We are on the forefront of this fight. Our billboards are going up in Kansas City this week, and our radio ads will be breaking this week as well. We will be running billboards and radio ads in major citys where foreign law prohibition legislation is under consideration, to counteract the Muslim Brotherhood pro-sharia campaign. Muslim Brotherhood groups, you are on notice. To paraphrase Churchill, we shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Congress, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength on the airwaves, we shall defend our freedoms, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the billboards, we shall fight on the radio, we shall fight in our protests and in the streets, we shall fight on the hill; we shall never surrender.

This very simple and clear cut legislation should be the proverbial no-brainer. And yet the fact that it is being met by so much resistance, both overt and covert, indicates how very needed it is.

How can anyone oppose a law that seeks to prevent foreign laws from undermining fundamental constitutional liberties? We all accept that state and federal constitutional rights to a jury trial in CIVIL cases can be waived almost by default (thus two parties agreeing to be bound by German or French law where there is no jury trial right in a civil matter) and would not be affected by the bill, since the jury trial right is per the law waived by default.

Subversive groups will tell you that Sharia is just private religious law. They’re lying. Sharia is a political system that contravenes American freedoms in numerous ways. Sharia asserts authority over non-Muslims. It mandates discrimination, harassment, and second-class status for both non-Muslims and women. It denies free speech, which we’re seeing in America increasingly under the guise of “hate speech laws.” How can anyone support Sharia when its undermines our fundamental Constitutional liberties? How long before these women are stoned to death for disobeying Islam? How long before thieves have their hands cut off? And rape victims are punished but the rapists go free? Like Barack Hussein Obama, the Muslim Brothers are portraying themselves as the face of moderation and unity with respect for differing opinions and faiths. Just as they promised the people of  Iran after the Shah was deposed. Be careful what you wish for. You deserve it.

Romney Vs. Gingrich on Jihad and Sharia

Early and volatile, the Republican Presidential nomination race—at least for now—appears to be settling into a contest between consistent front runnerMitt Romney, and the latest surging, “non-Romney alternative”, former House Speaker, Newt Gingrich.

Unfortunately the CNN/Heritage Foundation/American Enterprise televised debate of last week did not highlight the yawning gap between these front running contenders’ views on the existential threat doctrine of our Islamic enemies: jihad and its motivational, sacralized religio-political “law”, Sharia.

During an interview with US News reporter Dan Gligoff published June 3, 2009, Mitt Romney offered the following bizarre observation about the living Islamic institution ofjihad, ostensibly to “clarify” remarks made during an earlier speech at the Heritage Foundation:

I spoke about three major threats America faces on a long term basis. Jihadism is one of them, and that is not Islam.

Romney—notwithstanding this distressingly ridiculous pronouncement—remains, for now, the front running contender for the Republican Presidential nomination.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, in stark contrast to the muddled and craven nonsense uttered by Romney on jihad during his US News interview, delivered an astute and courageous address at The American Enterprise Institute, July 29, 2010, which provided an irrefragably accurate, if blunt characterization of the existential threat posed by Islam’s living, self-professed mission: to impose Sharia, its totalitarian religio-political “law,” globally.

With vanishingly rare intellectual honesty and resolve, Gingrich described how normative Sharia—antithetical to bedrock Western legal principles—by “divine,” immutable diktat, rejects freedom of conscience, while sanctioning violent jihadism, absurd, misogynistic “rules of evidence” (four male witnesses for rape), barbarous punishments (stoning for adultery), and polygamy:

Sharia in its natural form has principles and punishments totally abhorrent to the Western world, and the underlying basic belief which is that law comes directly from God and is therefore imposed upon humans and no human can change the law without it being an act of apostasy is a fundamental violation of a tradition in the Western system which goes back to Rome, Athens, and Jerusalem and which has evolved in giving us freedom across the planet on a scale we can hardly imagine and which is now directly threatened by those who would impose it.

Moreover, Gingrich warned about efforts—deliberate, or unwitting–to represent Sharia as a benign system:

So let me also be quite clear that the rules are radical and horrific. I think again it’s fascinating that even when people go out and do polling and they say to, for example, Muslims in general, do you believe in Sharia, they don’t then explain what Sharia is. Sharia becomes like would you like to be a Rotarian and it sounds okay.

Gingrich’s unflinching portrayal of the existential threat Sharia represents—whether or not this totalitarian system is imposed by violent, or non-violent means—was accompanied by a clarion call for concrete measures to oppose any Sharia encroachment on the U.S. legal code:

Stealth jihadis use political, cultural, societal, religious, intellectual tools; violent jihadis use violence. But in fact they’re both engaged in jihad and they’re both seeking to impose the same end state which is to replace Western civilization with a [radical] imposition of Sharia.

The fight against Sharia and the madrassas in mosques which teach hatred and fanaticism is the heart of the enemy movement from which the terrorists spring forth. It’s time we had a national debate on this. One of the things I’m going to suggest today is a federal law which says no court anywhere in the United States under any circumstance is allowed to consider Sharia as a replacement for American law.

Subsequently, J. Mark Campbell of The United West, obtained a video recorded commitment from Newt Gingrich, to pursue and prosecute the major Muslim Brotherhood front groups currently operating unencumbered in the US, and being courted for “Muslim outreach” by feckless politicians, policymakers, and even law enforcement officials.

The Holy Land Foundation trial made unmistakably clear the agenda of this spiders web of Muslim Brotherhood organizations—which includes unindicted co-conspirators CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations), ISNA (Islamic Society of North America), and NAIT (North American Islamic Trust)—as stated explicitly by Yusuf al-Qaradawi acolyte Mohamed Akram, in his “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America”, May 22, 1991 ( translated here, on “Page 7 of 18,” bottom center pagination):

The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and by the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.

“Front runner” Mitt Romney needs to provide the same unequivocal commitment, immediately, to this critically important national security goal in the struggle against jihadism

Newt Gingrich has set the standard for honest and informed discussion of Islamic totalitarianism which should be expected of all contenders—a standard Mitt Romney, thus far, fails, miserably.

We hope that you will come to an understanding of just exactly what Islam is, and its undeniable ties to what is known throughout the Islamic world as Sharia Law.  The two are absolutely inseparable, Islam without Sharia as well as Sharia without Islam are impossibilities.

Libya's transitional leader declares liberation, says Islamic Sharia law will be 'basic source' of legislation

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- Libya's transitional leader declared his country's liberation Sunday after an 8-month civil war and set out plans for the future with an Islamist tone. The announcement was clouded, however, by international pressure to explain how ousted dictator Moammar Gadhafi had been captured alive days earlier, then ended up dead from a gunshot to his head shortly afterward.

Gadhafi's death in circumstances that are still unclear, and the gruesome spectacle of his body laid out as a trophy in a commercial freezer and on public view, are testing the new Libyan leaders' commitment to the rule of law. Even at the ceremony to declare liberation, two speakers in positions of authority essentially said Gadhafi got what he deserved.

But transitional government leader Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, who made the keynote speech, did not mention the events surrounding Gadhafi's end and called on his people to eschew hatred.

"You should only embrace honesty, patience, and mercy," Abdul-Jalil told the crowd at the declaration ceremony in the eastern city of Benghazi, the birthplace of the uprising against Gadhafi. He urged Libyans to reconcile their differences. Read More

Sharia law being taught at Fort Leavenworth

After attending his class on Sharia law, Professor Raj Bhala hopes U.S. Army Special Operations officers will have a better understanding of what motivates Muslim extremists.

“Should they encounter violent extremists, they can look at that person and say: I know that what you’re saying about your own political system is wrong,” Bhala said.

Associate Dean for International and Comparative Law and Rice Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law, Bhala recently published a book, “Understanding Islamic Law (Shari’a).” He is teaching an elective to Command and General Staff College students through a program funded by the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. Bhala, an American Catholic, has practiced international banking law at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which twice granted him the President’s Award for Excellence.

Bhala started his class by explaining that Sharia law, meaning “the path,” has its source from the Muslim holy book, the Quran. Unlike western law, which often has inspiration from Judeo-Christian values, Bhala said religion and law are inseparable in the Muslim world.

“We don’t conceive of American law as a path to eternity,” he said. “It’s not a whole way of life for our public and private behavior.”

Sharia law governs many things such as property law, business contracts, banking, sex crimes, drinking and stealing, and many others.

The spectrum of what Sharia laws mean and how they are practiced vary for Muslims in non-Muslim countries and even Muslim countries. There are supporting texts, such as the Sunnah. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran, Bhala said, Sharia is the source of law. In Turkey, Muslim law is part of the culture for Muslim people, but not the principal source for the country’s legal system. After the Arab Spring, many countries are disputing the way these laws are practiced and enforced, Bhala said.

“Every legal system has this kind of battle — what’s authentically in the constitution and what’s a reasonable extension,” he said.

Bhala said in the case of violent extremists, many times Muslims don’t understand Sharia or are manipulated with advice based on bad or politically motivated legal texts.

“It’s an odd situation where there not only needs to be re-educating in the Muslim world, but also, we need to do the educating,” he said.

Interesting, is Bhala stating that jihadists are just mis-understanders of Islam and sharia and that non-Muslims need to re-educate Muslims about sharia? Is this what we want taught to special ops soldiers?
