Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend the annual UN General Assembly meeting in New York on Sept 19.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will leave the Iranian capital of Tehran on September 19 to attend the annual UN General Assembly meeting in New York.


The Iranian chief executive, who is due to head a high-ranking political and economic delegation, will leave Tehran on Monday.

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, presidential advisor Mojtaba Samareh-Hashemi, Commerce Minister Mahdi Ghazanfari and Head of Iran's Physical Education Organization Ali Saeedlou are among officials accompanying the president on his trip.

President Ahmadinejad will present the political delegations attending the UN meeting with a five-volume book series which include documents on the occupation of Iran during the Second World War.

Following his trip to the US, the Iranian president will pay a visit to Venezuela, Sudan and Mauritania to hold talks with his counterparts.
