Kimberli Thompson returned to her home near NE 63 Wednesday and found it destroyed by Tuesday's raging wildfire.
Thompson, 41, said she moved into the house in 2009 with her sister and 3-year-old niece. She said they had recently finished remodeling and building onto the house.
As she walked around the property with an insurance agent Wednesday, she tried to recall some of her belongings in the house, such as books, boxes of pictures and paintings.
But all that remains is scorched electronics and piles of ash.
She said her uncle, James Thompson, tried to save her house after preventing the fire from spreading to two neighboring homes.
